One app for a hull, a platform, a process unit and a bridge.
The work is the same everywhere: find the breakdown, decide what's first, put the coating on to the spec, and prove it. What changes is how the site is organized, so that's the part you set up.
Shipbuilding & repair
A newbuild is thousands of hold points across blocks, tanks and decks, with yard QC and the owner's representative each keeping their own record of the same steel. A drydock repair is the same work against a tighter clock.
- Two sides on one job: yard QC and owner's rep each see their own records.
- Tank Tracker and Matrix show every tank and area against every coat.
- Workpacks issued by revision, so the version a contractor priced is never in doubt.
- Drawing view paints status onto the General Arrangement plans.
Offshore platforms
Platform coatings are maintained over years on decks, modules and splash zones, often with no signal where the work is, and a helicopter between the inspector and the office.
- Offline-first: a whole shift captured with no signal and sent later.
- Condition surveys grade each element and measure its area for the next campaign.
- Daily summary goes to the beach in one email or PDF.
- The demo on this site is a fictional platform, Northern Reach.
Refineries & chemical plants
A maintenance painting programme runs survey, grade, scope, price and QA, unit by unit. Plant integrity systems are built around wall thickness; coating condition rarely has a home of its own. This gives it one.
- Survey and triage: red, yellow, green by time to repair, with measured area.
- Element lists you control: pipe, pipe racks and braces, equipment, vessels, skid packages, structure.
- Estimates from your rate card, priced by severity band.
- Execution QA on the repair, to the plant's own specification.
Tank farms & terminals
Internal linings are inspected coat by coat in confined space, and every tank in the scope needs a status, including the ones nobody has started.
- Tank Tracker: one row per tank, prep to final acceptance.
- Holiday testing recorded with method, voltage, detector and re-test.
- Blast-to-coat clock and dew-point checks at the hold point.
- Daily JSA with the crew's confined-space briefing signed on the iPad.
Power, water & infrastructure
Bridges, penstocks, water tanks and plant structures are owned for decades and painted in campaigns. The record has to make sense to whoever opens it next time.
- Your own structure: span, girder and bay, or unit and component.
- Seasons: a winter shutdown is one season, even across two calendar years.
- Reports that cover a date range and leave out an old contract's records.
- Read-only reviewer and viewer logins for the owner's engineers.
Each person sees what their part of the job needs.
The app has seven roles, from field inspector to read-only reviewer. Read-only roles are enforced by the database's own rules, not by hiding buttons.
| Role | What they do in the app |
|---|---|
| Yard QC | Inspects to the yard's own standard, passes stages, raises findings, and keeps the yard's own record of the job. |
| Owner's representative | Witnesses and accepts at the hold point, writes NCRs, and reports progress to the owner. |
| Office coordinator | Sets up sites and specs, runs the matrix and punch list, issues workpacks and reports. |
| Approver | Makes issued reports permanent, on the sites assigned to them. |
| Painting contractor | Receives the issued workpack, works the punch list, and takes tasks on the Board. |
| Independent inspector | Carries a licence and their own records from client to client. Inspector licence. |
| Owner or customer | A viewer login on the Overview, or a read-only reviewer who can open inspections without changing them. |
